Ariana Grande Took On The Objectification Of Women In A Blistering Tweet

While the life of a celebrity certainly looks perfect, constantly being in the public eye, particularly as a woman, has its downsides. Namely, female celebrities are constantly being objectified by the general public who feel entitled to their bodies. 

However, the women of Hollywood are done dealing with this nonsense, and they're ready for a change. Ariana Grande recently took to Twitter to share an unpleasant fan encounter and to call for change. 


The singer decided it was time to teach us all an important lesson. 


Her evening out with boyfriend Mac Miller began with a pretty standard fan encounter. 

went to pick up food with my boyfriend tonight and a young boy followed us to the car to tell mac that he’s a big fan. He was loud and excited and by the time M was seated in the drivers seat he was literally almost in the car with us


But things took an unpleasant turn when the young boy decided that it was appropriate to blatantly objectify her. 

I thought all of this was cute and exciting until he said “ariana is sexy as hell man i see you, i see you hitting that!!!



Grande, however, was NOT about to let the incident slide. 

*pause* Hitting that? the f—k?? This may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I felt sick and objectified... Things like [that] happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy.... We need to talk about these moments openly because they are harmful and they live on inside of us as shame.


She ended her tweet with a very important reminder about women. 

We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS. 


Twitter, understandably, is bowing down to the Queen of calling out sexist bullsh*t.
