One of Donald Trump's biggest campaign promises was to build a wall between the United States and Mexico to stop people from immigrating illegally and it looks like he's wasting no time on getting it built.
One promise he's finding difficult to keep, however, was his claim that he was going to get Mexico to pay for it. Mexico was like, "Uhh, no dude, we're not about that wall building life."
So Trump is using some $20 billion of US tax dollars to pay for the wall, but then promised US Citizens there'd be a tax refund down the road for payment of the wall. But since we can't just fart money (so awesome if we could) people started asking where the reimbursement money's going to come from.
And when Trump proposed that the US would implement a 20% tax hike on all Mexican products, people started freaking out.
A 20% tax on Imports doesn't mean #Mexico pays for the wall, it means US citizens pay for the wall one higher-priced #avocado at a time.

Mainly because that meant their avocados and tequila prices would jack up in price.
Under the Trump administration, everything from people to avocados are getting the shaft. #avocadotax #savethecado pic.twitter.com/nkI0AmkuTY

Some people are already planning on ways to make money off the proposed tax.
I can totally see myself getting mixed up in some kind of black market avocado cartel business. #AvocadoTax #guacamole #resist pic.twitter.com/uXEBLfAdqV

And others are pointing out that even Trump recognized the tax proposal was a terrible idea.
I dont always propose 20 % tariffs on a major trading partner, but when I do I reverse them 10 minutes later. #NoBanNoWall #AvocadoTax pic.twitter.com/2lnQI2mbgK

People are equally pissed off about tequila prices going up.
If @POTUS thinks he can apply #tequilatax to build his bullshit #wall he's got another thing coming! I've #marched before and I will again!?

Stocking up on the #margarita essentials @JoseCuervo @1800Tequila just in case #tequilatax

If the women's march was huge, wait until the Tequila Tax march. Colonists had their tea love. We fight wars over drink taxes.#tequilatax
— Seriously? (@MamaBean41) January 27, 2017
Simply put, any policy proposal which drives up costs of Corona, tequila, or margaritas is a big-time bad idea. Mucho Sad. (2)

Trump's 20% tax on imports from Mexico = Texans paying 20% more for Guac, Corona, Topo Chico, Tequila, Jalapenos, etc. #NoThanks #TrumpTax
— TEXAS (@UTProbs) January 27, 2017
President Trump: I don't like your 20% tax on Mexican imports to pay for the wall.
— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) January 26, 2017
I like Corona & Tequila.
I'm not paying for the wall.
America imports $21 billion in agricultural products from Mexico. So, enjoy your 20% tax on fruits, vegetables, coffee, beer, and tequila.

Build a wall, just don't tax our avocados or booze.
