I always dreamed of flying through a tornado as a little kid. That's because I was obsessed with Taz from Looney Tunes and also because I had zero understanding of the immense pain and trauma that would occur as a result of being tossed about it one of those bad boys.
It wasn't until I saw Twister that I realized not only are tornadoes absolutely devastating, but Bill Paxton is a hugely underrated actor.
The movie kind of killed the fantasy of ever flying through a tornado and surviving for me. That is, until now.
Because this 75-year-old woman managed to survive flying through a twister.

Charletta Williams was watching TV with her son when the tornado started approaching her home. So she did something that's been seen in countless movies (Lethal Weapon 2, for example) that people do whenever some type of crazy, earth-shattering crap is about to go down.
She jumped inside the bathtub along with her son and they covered themselves with a blanket.
They were caught up in the tornado, which twirled the bathtub they were seeking shelter in through the air and into the woods. Both her and her son emerged from the bathtub without injury, a la Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull.
Here's the National Weather Service's official report:
"The tornado continued in a northeast direction, crossing CR 3300 at which point it removed the roof of a home. A woman inside took shelter in a bathtub and the tornado lifted the tub out of the home and deposited it in the woods with the woman still in the tub but the woman was not injured."
Williams' recounting of the events were much more blunt, however.
“I wasn’t looking. I was under that quilt. I’m a tell you I don’t wanna ride now through another one," she said in an interview with KSLA.
