This Teen's Epic Mistake Is The Reason Why You Shouldn't Pull Pranks With Chainsaws

Teenagers (and 20-somethings) are particularly inclined to moronic behavior. The brain isn't fully developed until the age of  26, so we might as well act like idiots until there's no longer a biological justification for it.

However, a group of young men in Germany really set a new bar with their idiocy — when their attempted "prank" turned into an unintentional chainsaw massacre.

According to The Daily Mail, the 18-year-old victim from Wickede in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany was partying with friends during the Christmas break when things went south.

The prank was supposed to go down much like the one in this video, which went viral in 2015.

The Norwegian prankster terrified his sleeping friend by holding a disabled chainsaw up to his throat.

A little sociopathic, but, hey, it makes a good video.

However, unlike the young men in the video, these amateur pranksters failed to remove the chainsaw's chain.

So, when the genius prankster whipped out a chainsaw and lunged at his sleeping friend, there was no actual protection to keep him from getting chopped into tiny, gory pieces.

Needless to say, things did not turn out well.

The victim of the prank, understandably, flew into a panic and tried to push the blade away, seriously injuring his left hand.

"The 22-year-old told us that he was sure he had switched on the chain brake. But the chain had turned," Police spokesman Wolfgang Lueckenkemper told Daily Mail

The victim was taken to the hospital and given immediate medical attention — and his four "friends" were treated for shock.

After being treated for "shock," the perpetrators can look forward to some serious consequences.

The 22-year-old mastermind behind this idiocy may face charges of inflicting dangerous bodily injury. However, he won't be receiving any drunk and disorderly conduct citations, because, somehow, he was stone cold sober during the ridiculous event.

So, here's a reminder for any impulsive teenagers considering chainsaw pranks: remove the chain. Or, better yet, skip it altogether. (h/t daily mail)
