I've got a soft spot for seeing babies dressed up, and the tinier they are, the more adorable it is.
Dressing NICU babies up in adorable little costumes to celebrate the holidays is becoming somewhat of a tradition. These little poopsies got the Halloween treatment a few months back.
Now, with Christmas right around the corner, St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City thought that they'd help parents relieve the stress of having infants in neonatal care by dressing them up in some festive holiday outfits.
Hospital staff and parents dressed up the 31 NICU babies in the hospital in Christmas, Hannukah, and Kwanzaa outfits.

Kaitlyn and Eric Bunch held their adorable gift-wrapped twins and gushed about how much they loved the idea in an interview with Today.
“It makes things a little bit easier especially around this time of year. I am really happy to have those pictures; they weren’t going to be able to see Santa."

The babies and their families also received visits from Santa along with gift bags that contained some baby care essentials and Holiday board books. Even their photos were taken by professional photographers, Sally Morrow, and Faces You Love Photography, who had both had children in the NICU.
March of Dimes family support coordinator Rebecca Keunen, along with hospital staff and volunteers, sewed the custom outfits for the babies.

"Part of my job is to make the holidays special for the families. When we can do these things for them it just brings them so much joy," Keunen said.
Thea Alter, a mother of one of the NICU nurses, made custom hats for each of the baby's tiny outfits.
Keunen went on to say that they come up with the idea after considering the stress families go through celebrating a first holiday in intensive care.

Hopefully these little bundles of joy will be healthy enough to go home with their parents and celebrate future holidays outside of the hospital.
In the meantime, they're making the most of it, and looking super cute while doing it, thanks to the March of Dimes, St. Luke's hospital staff, and all the volunteers who worked together to make it possible.
