Thousands of Lexington, Kentucky residents have been seeing a familiar face at one street corner this holiday season.
Marian Sims is a 46 year veteran of the Lexington school system and has taught thousands of students over the course of her career. And this year, she finally decided to retire but wanted to find a way to thank all her students for being so great. So she rented a billboard.
Sims spent months planning how the board would look and made good on her plan to "put it up close to Christmas time when a lot of people are coming from far away."

Sims, who recently retired, said that her students have created joy in her life, and have shaped her into who she is and what she stands for today.
She received hundreds of letters from former students, thanking her for being their teacher, keeping them in her thoughts, and of course, the lovely message she left them on the billboard.
"Each of us knows one thing, that they are loved by at least one person, you," Sims told WKYT. "And you know that you are loved by each one of us. What a legacy you have." The billboard will be up until January 5th, 2017.
