Every time I look at Canada's public schools, the country's cost of living, health coverage, foreign policy, generosity, and property ownership laws and costs, I start to seriously consider moving over there.
And then I'm reminded of just how friggin' cold it is. Outside of places like Vancouver (which is super pricey) most major cities literally freeze over and that usually makes me stay put.
And videos like this aren't helping any either.
Over the Christmas break, there was so much freezing rain in Ottawa, Canada, that people were literally ice skating on the streets.

Environment Canada reported that there's 5-10mm of ice on the ground, making driving a lost cause. But skating a totally viable commuting solution.
And it seems like plenty of people were willing to trade in a set of wheels for a pair of skates.

If only there were parts of Canada that had California's climate.
