There's no worse feeling while you're driving than to see those dreaded red and blue flashing lights in your rear-view mirror. The last thing your bank account needs is some a crappy fine.
I've had both pleasant and downright crappy experiences with police officers, because at the end of the day they're people. People who are given an extraordinary amount of power, but regular eating, pooping people at the end of the day.
And it feels pretty damn good when they treat you with respect and, dare I say it, even kindness.
Like this police officer who pulled over a speeding student who looked like he had difficulty tying a tie properly.
Officer Martin Folcyzk with the Menomonie Police Department then helped University of Wisconsin Student Trevor Keeney in between checking his insurance information and driver's license.
Keeney was left off with a warning, and went on to score a 92 on the sales class presentation he got all dressed up for.
The Menonomie Police Chief after learning about Folcyzk's tie tutorial, invited Keeney back to the station for a lesson in how to properly tie a tie:
"I went back and met with him for about 30 minutes and he taught me! It was cool," Keeney said in an interview with ABC News.
Cool, indeed. (h/t abc news)
