The fondest memory I have of the Avatar movie is sitting in a Manhattan movie theater and noticing Liev Shcreiber with his family sitting behind me and being the only person in my group of friends who knew who he was. So then I had to whip out my phone and Google a photo of Sabretooth from the terrible Wolverine Origins movie, to which my friends all said, "Oh dude, it's sh*tty Sabretooth!"
I prayed Liev didn't hear them, I don't think he did, but that was the closest I came to being embarrassed in front of Liev Shcreiber in my entire life, and it's probably the last time.
And I'm sure if I ever visit the Avatar theme park that's coming to Disney World in the summer of 2017, I'll be reminded of this stupid moment of my life every step I take through it.
Disney Parks just released a trailer that teases the new attraction and it looks pretty epic.
Pandora: The World Of Avatar will be opening in Disney's Animal Kingdom and it's all about the world of the Na'vi.
Construction for the park began back in 2014 and almost 3 years after work began, it looks like James Cameron's world will soon be a part of the Disney World experience.
The acclaimed director and creator of the Avatar franchise had significant input into the creation of the theme park.
Here he is looking at a scaled-down model of a part of the park.
Remember that glowing nighttime forest scene where the two Na'vi get it on by twirling their braids together? Well that's gonna be in the park.
Here's Cameron showing off the forest floor that changes color when you step on it.
It's pretty dope.
The forest is going to look much different during the day.
It'll be packed with crazy-looking plants and foliage straight out of the Avatar universe.
Don't worry though, it's not all just sight-seeing there will be Na'vi inspired rides, like staddling the back of a mountain banshee.
It's a simulation that's supposed to make you feel like you're riding one of those pterodactyl things from the movie.
Cameron calls the ride "a thrill".
"You're gonna plunge, you're gonna dive, you're gonna see the world flying through it," Cameron said.
They've even got a romantic as hell looking boat-ride attraction in the works: "The Na'vi river Journey."
Disney Imagineering senior VP of creative, Joe Rhode, says it's a "beautiful, lyrical ride into the bioluminescent forest".
They've even managed to recreate the "floating" mountains from the film.
And of course, there's going to be Na'vi-themed restaurants and gift shops that sell wares inspired by the film's universe.
You've got the Windtraders store that sells toys and science kits.
Pongu Pongu sells Na'vi-themed drinks; be prepared for a bunch of funky colors.
